Communion is a beautiful occasion for a photo session and this young man’s mother decided to include his adorable little sister. Communion is not only a great opportunity to photograph the communicant, but the entire family. I always try to encourage families to be photographed together whenever possible.
I spent the first part of this day watching the hourly weather report. They were calling for rain in the evening and since I like to shoot in the late afternoon when the light is soft it was a race against time. We met at the park and got some beautiful shots, but just as I was finishing up it was as if the floodgates of heaven opened and it began to pour! The girls ran for cover (including myself) but this little guy relished the rain, running and jumping about with glee! Needless to say I got some very comical shots. I’m sure it wasn’t what his mom had in mind when she scheduled his session, but sometimes the unexpected can make for the best portraits. 🙂
