This family of six were the winners of a Drum Hill Studios portrait package at a fundraising event called All In For Alec. This wonderful family – with 2 parents, 2 adult children and 2 rambunctious boys under age 7 – were excited to have their photos taken professionally for the first time. The kids were great, but I’ll tell you, it did come in handy having an extra pair of adult hands on location! 🙂 We shot at one of my favorite locations in Somerset and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. I hope these are memories they will always cherish. I know I will!
All In For Alec was formed by the family of Alec Perusich, a 10-year old survivor of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). SJS/TEN is a life-threatening skin condition caused by a severe allergic reaction to a medication. It can be extremely painful and often times debilitating. Alec is still battling the lingering effects of SJS/TEN, but he remains incredibly strong and brave and has become an inspiration to all those lucky enough to know him. I was so proud to be a part of this event. To read about Alec’s journey please visit his Facebook page. You can also learn more about Stevens-Johnson Syndrome by visiting the Stevens-Johnson Syndrome Foundation website.
