When it comes to newborn portraiture I think simplicity is best. I use very few props because I think the focus should be on your baby. I love accessories such as hats and headbands, that are classic. Character hats and props that are used to transform babies into something other than babies are not my style.
This little one was a few weeks old when she came to me. She was alert and stretching, as babies her age do. Younger newborns, however, prefer to curl up and sleep more deeply. The difference from one week to the next is astounding.
