In terms of portraiture I consider newborns to be babies under 10 days old. During this time they are at their sleepiest and able to hold those adorable curled up poses as though they’re still in the womb. Other than your wedding day, the birth of a child is one of the most important times to have professional photos taken. A newborn session can not be redone. It is a once in a lifetime event. You may be able to take a photo of your 2-year old, wait two weeks and photograph him again without noticing any difference. But newborn babies change every second. When my clients get to see the edited images 2 weeks after their session they can’t believe how much they’ve changed. It’s an investment they never regret.
