Older Newborn

An ideal time to photograph newborns is when they are a week to 10 days old. They’ve just spent months in the womb and can still maintain those adorable curled up poses that are quintessentially “newborn”. Plus, younger newborns are sleepier and therefore easier to pose. But sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, a session at that time is not possible. Every birth is unpredictable. As a mom, I know this from experience! Good news is it’s never too late to photograph your newborn!

Older newborn babies may not sleep during the session but that’s okay because you can still can get very cute “awake shots”. When Christopher came to me he was 1 1/2 months old. As you can see, he spent some of the time sleeping and some of the time awake. It’s who he was at this point in time and that’s all that matters.
