When I started Drum Hill Studios last year my intention was to offer my clients a high-end, full service experience. I take a hands-on approach by not only photographing your portraits, but by designing and fulfilling your print orders personally. I have twenty years graphic design experience. With the help of programs like Photoshop I am able to optimize and retouch your images if needed. No need to worry about small scratches, skin flakes or under eye circles. I will take care of everything! Next, I crop and layout your images. Print sizes range from 5×7 to 24×30. Prints that I consider wall prints are those that are sized 11×14 or larger. These are mounted to styrene. Styrene is a mounting substrate with a 2mm depth. Made from plastic, it is not affected by humidity or moisture so it is not susceptible to warping. No need to worry about others handling your styrene mounted prints because they will not bend or wrinkle. And like all my prints, they are lustre coated. Lustre provides the fingerprint resistance of matte plus the color saturation of glossy, without the shine. Smaller prints can also be mounted to styrene, per your request.
I recently completed an order which included a 16×20 storyboard. The mom was so happy with the photo shoot I did with her three beautiful children that she couldn’t decide which images to buy. What a terrific problem to have! 🙂 So, in addition to her 5×7 and 8×10 gift prints, she purchased a 16×20 storyboard of her four favorite images. The picture below shows the added depth the styrene gives the print. I think it turned out great! One of the nice things about styrene mounts is that they can be displayed with or without a frame. The styrene provides the rigidity they need to stand on their own, with an easel or on a decorative picture ledge.
